The purchase of this ticket allows for 2 CE credits per quarterly meeting, up to 4 meetings and 8 CE credits. This applies to the California licenses Marriage and Family Therapy and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors and require participation, sign in and out evidence, and a completed evaluation for each

The purpose of the MFT Consortium Quarterly Meetings is to promote the quality of clinical training to students preparing for a career in psychotherapy as child, couple and family therapists (MFT). The consortium membership consists of: 1. Administrators and faculty members of academic institutions with a program in Marriage and Family Therapy, 2. Administrators and clinical supervisors of agencies providing practicum training to students in a Marriage and Family Therapy program, and 3. Representatives from collaborative agencies, such as, CAMFT, AAMFT, CA BBS, and more.

The academic institutions represented in the San Diego and Imperial Counties MFT consortium are:

  2. Alliant International University
  3. Azusa Pacific University
  4. Bethel Seminary
  5. Brandman University
  6. National University
  7. San Diego State University
  8. Southern California Seminary
  9. University of Phoenix
  10. University of San Diego
  11. Pt. Loma University

The goal of participation is to enhance the practicum training of MFT students. Some of the issues that we discuss in these meetings include:

  • Agency capacities required in the orientation/training, clinical supervision, and professional development of MFT students,
  • Professional practices in the evaluation of MFT students’ readiness for the field of psychotherapy,
  • Clinical training of MFT students in practicum and traineeship sites,
  • Supervision and evaluation of MFT therapists,
  • Professional role identity as couple, marriage and family therapists,
  • Legislative, political and professional endeavors that impact the education and training of MFT students and professionals.

Each meeting also includes a relevant training for participants and optional CE credits for licenses under the CA BBS. The cost for CEs is $30 for the year (4 x 2 CE meetings). We meet from 9:30am to 11:30am and the locations for 2017 are listed below. The $30 if for the year 2017 so if you miss one or more meetings, the fee is still the same, but you can gain up to the full 8 CEs. The certificate of completion of CEs will only include the actual hours you attended as evidenced by a sign-in / sign-out document and a completed evaluation.
